Introduction

http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ is a free forum for members of the Society for Vascular Technology of Great Britain & Ireland (SVT), to discuss Vascular Ultrasound related topics and coordinate meetings. To aid these discussions, the following Rules are published so that the members and users are fully aware of the conduct that is expected.

The SVT officials reserve the right to remove all material which we consider inappropriate and we have the right to ban or suspend your account. It is expressly forbidden to post material which is pornographic, offensive, defamatory, harassing, infringing, factually incorrect or otherwise unlawful or illegal, or to post material(s) that is/are in any way contrary to accepted morality and behaviour.

The material contained in the Discussion Forums is submitted by the general public, unless directly stated the discussions are NOT endorsed by SVT and are for discussion purposes only.

Please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents posted messages and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the individual author of the message, not necessarily the views of SVT. Any Club Member who feels that a message or contribution is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by:

a) send a ‘pm’ (private message) to the moderator of the forum section
b) Alternatively, you may email any of the committee providing a link to the objectionable material.

We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realise that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.

2. The SVT Committee may change these terms at any time by posting changes online. Please review these terms regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes made. 11. We take the privacy of Our users seriously. Personal information and registration data that You provide to us will not be released to a third party. It will only be used for the purposes of providing You with details of any new services or features available to You as a Member through this Site.

Cookies are used on this site to enable features (such as autologin) and also to gather statistics as to how members use http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ If you do not accept cookies from this site the functionality available to you may be limited.

12. Where there has been a complaint which pertains to the breaking of the Terms of Use, or Forum Rules the Committee Reserves the right to use all sources of data available to them to uphold or dismiss the complaint. 14.1 warrant that your contribution;
14.1.1 is your own original work and that you have the right to make it available to the SVT for all the purposes specified above;
14.1.2 is not defamatory; and
14.1.3 does not infringe any law; damages and other expenses that may be incurred by the SVT as a result of your breach of the above warranty; and
14.2 waive any moral rights in your contribution for the purposes of its submission to and publication on http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ and the purposes specified above.

15. You agree to use the http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ Forums in accordance with the Forum Rules as set out above and additionally as below:

16. About your posts:

• Contributions must be civil and tasteful
• No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour: contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble.
• No unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.
• Duplicate accounts are not permitted.
• Be patient: users of all ages and abilities may be part of the http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ Community.
• No spamming: We do not allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times, or posts we believe have been made to advertise products. We reserve the right to remove posts and close accounts we believe have been created to ‘spam’ the http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ .
• Contributions containing languages other than English may be removed. Please use a translation service if English is not your first language.
• No impersonation
• No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive etc) user names

The Committee of the SVT reserve the right to remove posts which break the above rules.

About the Law:

18. You may not submit any defamatory or illegal material of any nature to the Forums at http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ . This includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio. Contributing material with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act is strictly prohibited. The views expressed in http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ Forums are those of members of the public and are not necessarily those of SVT.

If you breach these Terms of Use:

19. If you fail to abide by these Terms or break the Forum Rules you will be sent a Personal Message or email to the account you registered with the forum which informs you why your contribution has been moderated.

If this breach of the Terms of Use or Forum Rules is serious, and a majority of the Committee agree you may receive a Formal Warning and/ or a temporary suspension of your account and access to facilities and services provided by http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/

If you are issued with a formal warning within 30 days of registering with http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ then We reserve the right to ban your account and remove your access without you having to accumulate 3 warnings.

A formal warning is lasts for 12 months from the date of issue.

19.1 For Club Members and Authorised Advertisers:

If You accumulate 3 current formal warnings in a 12 month period, then you and any business associated with your account http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ will be permanently banned from participating or using services provided by http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/

19.2 For Ltd Companies (With Authorised Company status) :

You may have up to two accounts for official Company representatives on the forum. If a total of three formal warnings are accumulated across all accounts held by Company Representatives, the Business will be permanently banned from participating or using services provided by http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/

In recognition that a Ltd Business and individuals are two legal identities the individuals may convert their accounts to private accounts; but these individual accounts will retain any formal warnings issued against them.

20. If You register another account with the purpose of circumventing Your ban, the committee reserve the right to immediately ban that account without the issuing of further formal warnings.

21. We reserve the right to delete any contribution, or take action against any account, at any time, for any reason. For example, bogus accounts suspected to have been created by spammers will be removed, including any post without any prior warning.

In all matters concerning this issuing of formal warnings and Banning of members from http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ the committees decision is final and binding.

Advertising and Purchase of products through http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/

22. Companies may not post, advertise or promote their products or services on the Website without becoming an Affiliate. Such posts will be removed, and repeated abuse can result in a formal warning.

23. Club Members: Your correspondence or business dealings with, or participation in promotions of, advertisers and merchants found on or through any of the services contained on the site, including payment and delivery of related goods or services, and any other terms, conditions, warranties or representations associated with such dealings, are solely between you and such advertiser or merchant.

23.1 To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that:

23.1.1 Should You purchase products or services from third parties who offer such products or services for supply on the Site or any Third Party Site or should You have any business dealings with any person whose details are available through the Site or any Third Party Site then such purchases or dealings are carried out at Your sole risk and SVT, its Officers and Committee have no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage that You suffer as a consequence thereof.

23.1.2 Any orders placed by you on, and any product specifications and product availability appearing on, the site are subject to confirmation by, and the terms and conditions of business of, the relevant merchant.

24 The appearance of an advert does not mean that we endorse the advertiser's goods or services. SVT, its Officers and Committee are not responsible for the accuracy of any advertising material or the usefulness of an advertised product or service.

General

25. These Terms of use supersede all previous versions and were last updated on 11th Dec 2007

26. If there is any conflict between these terms and specific terms appearing elsewhere on http://svtgbi.forumotion.com/ then the latter shall prevail.

27. If any of these terms are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by reason of the laws of any state or country in which these terms are intended to be effective, then to the extent and within the jurisdiction in which that term is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and the remaining terms shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.
